WP: US senators urge Trump to withdraw Putin's G20 invitation
A bipartisan group of 14 US senators has called on President Donald Trump to withdraw his invitation to Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin to attend the G20 summit, which will take place in Miami in December.

Quote from the senators' letter: "[...] Putin bears sole responsibility for launching Russia's full-scale war of aggression against Ukraine [...] Allowing him to participate in a G20 Summit in the United States raises serious concerns about legitimising and normalising a government that continues to attack Ukrainian civilian targets every day."
Details: The senators noted that Putin, Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov and other members of the Russian delegation are under US sanctions over actions considered to pose a threat to national security.
According to the senators, the absence of international isolation may reduce Putin's incentive to agree to a ceasefire with Ukraine.
