Ukrainian company Vyriy unveils Slavic tactical reconnaissance UAV – photos

Details: The Slavic is equipped with a 40,000 mAh solid-state battery, providing up to 1.5 hours of flight time. Its tactical range is up to 30 km, allowing reconnaissance of the front line while keeping the crew at a safer distance from the engagement zone.

The drone can operate without GPS, using optical positioning for navigation. Its communications system operates across a wide range of channels, allowing operators to select channels with less interference and maintain better connectivity in challenging terrain.

The manufacturer says the Slavic is equipped for surveillance with a 2K digital daylight camera (2560×1440) mounted on a three-axis stabilised gimbal, offering 10× optical zoom and 30× hybrid zoom.

The system is supplied ready to use out of the box, with all the equipment required for operation without additional modifications in the field. The supplied controller supports integration with the Delta and Kropyva situational awareness systems, as well as video streaming directly from the controller to the Vezha app.

Oleksii Babenko, founder and CEO of Vyriy Industries, said, "The war has changed, and so have the conditions in which crews operate. The kill zone has expanded, while available commercial drones have a limited tactical range. The main task now is to provide the military with a specialised platform that can fly for longer and farther, allowing crews to operate farther from the line of contact. That is precisely why we began developing the Slavic."

The company said its new drone had successfully completed initial combat trials with seven units of the Ukrainian defence forces and was now being prepared for scaling up.

The manufacturer added that the team was simultaneously working on new Slavic configurations, testing thermal imaging modules for night-time reconnaissance and the use of the platform as a communications relay carrier. The company is also preparing to scale up production and deliveries to the Ukrainian defence forces.

Background: Ukrainska Pravda previously reported that Vyriy had unveiled the first prototype of its Slavic copter-type reconnaissance UAV and disclosed the platform's initial specifications.
