Russian drones hit Pivdennyi Bridge in Kyiv: public transport resumed, metro still halted – video

Two drone strikes were recorded near the support structure of the Pivdennyi (South) Bridge in Kyiv. Surface public transit across the bridge is being resumed. According to preliminary inspection results, no critical damage has been found.

Update: Kyiv City State Administration reported that according to preliminary inspection results, specialist employees from the municipal transport company Kyivavtoshliakhmist found no critical damage to the Pivdennyi (South) Bridge. Buses No. 22 and No. 91 are resuming their usual routes.
The inspection of the metro structures is ongoing. Trains on the green metro line are currently running between Syrets and Vydubychi stations and between Osokorky and Chervonyi Khutir stations. Further information on the resumption of metro service will be provided later.
Details: According to Kyiv City State Administration, at around 11:30, while the train was moving, dust entered the train carriage through the ventilation system as a result of the blast wave. No passengers or the driver were injured, and the car's windows and components were not damaged. The train was taken to the depot for further inspection.
Details: Earlier, 5 Kanal correspondent Mariana Marchenko reported seeing a Russian drone strike the Pivdennyi Bridge in Kyiv while travelling on a metro train.

The journalist recalls that during the trip, one of the passengers yelled "Shahed", after which an explosion occurred and ash fell from the train car's ventilation system.
Quote from Marchenko: "People were not injured in the metro car I was in. The train brought people to Vydubychi station, to the right bank. Then it did not continue its movement. Another train already running on the green metro line came to pick up the people."
Details: Local Telegram channels report two impacts on the columns of the Pivdennyi Bridge and claim that the Russians used Geran-5 drones for the attack. There is currently no official confirmation regarding the specific drone type.
Ukrainska Pravda has contacted Ukraine's State Emergency Service for comment on the circumstances of the attack, potential damage and casualties.
