One killed and two injured in Russian strike on Kyiv's Darnytskyi district – photos

One person has been killed and two injured in a Russian strike on a residential building in Kyiv's Darnytskyi district on the night of 2 October.

Quote from Kyiv City Military Administration: "Sadly, one person has been killed in an enemy strike on a residential building in the Darnytskyi district. We extend our condolences to the deceased's family and loved ones. Two people have also been reported injured."

Details: Klitschko reported earlier that the upper floors of a high-rise residential building in the Darnytskyi district had been hit. A fire broke out in the building.
Update: According to the State Emergency Service, Russian forces hit a 25-storey residential building in the Darnytskyi district. The fire on the 23rd and 24th floors which extended over an area of 120 sq m has been extinguished. Around 40 sq m of the building were damaged.

Rescue workers evacuated two injured from the building and handed them over to medical workers. A body was found while the fire was being extinguished. Another six people were evacuated.

Rescue workers are continuing to dismantle and douse the damaged structures.

Background:
- Russian forces hit Kyiv's Pivdennyi Bridge again on the night of 1-2 October. A 25-storey residential building was also damaged in the Darnytskyi district, with information about casualties still being confirmed.
- Debris damaged windows in a non-residential building and several cars in the Holosiivskyi district. Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported that no casualties or fires had been recorded there.
