"People here are worrying about getting to work, reaching their families and getting home safely," she stressed.

Mathernová added that Russia alone bears responsibility for such attacks.

Quote: "Moscow wants to scare Europe into reducing its support for Ukraine. That will not happen. The EU delegation continues its work in Kyiv, while taking the security of our team seriously. All EU embassies continue to function here too."

Details: Mathernová stressed that the EU continues to support Ukraine.

She noted that this year alone, the EU has approved plans to purchase €28.3 billion worth of defence products for Ukraine. In addition, €6.6 billion has been allocated in military assistance for Ukraine.

Mathernová also said that the EU continues to work on the largest package of sanctions against Russia in its history. This week, the EU imposed new sanctions over the deportation of Ukrainian children.

"As Russia takes greater risks, we are stepping up our actions to impose greater costs," she concluded.
