Details: According to survey data, 40% of Ukrainians believe that affairs in the country are developing in the right direction, while 45% believe they are going in the wrong direction. Another 15% were undecided.

Compared to February 2024, the share of those who consider the direction right decreased by four percentage points – from 44% to 40%. The share of those holding the opposite view remained virtually unchanged – 46% then versus 45% in September 2026.
At the same time, the share of undecided respondents rose from 10% to 15%.
KIIS notes that overall indicators have stayed largely stable and the shift in the share of those who consider the direction wrong is not statistically significant.
For reference: KIIS conducted the Omnibus survey from 12–21 September 2026, via telephone interviews among 1,002 adult citizens of Ukraine in government-controlled territory. Questions regarding the direction of the country's development and attitudes towards the current authorities were added at the request of Forum NGO.
Respondents were selected based on a random sample of mobile numbers and the results were statistically weighted. Residents of occupied territories and citizens who went abroad after 24 February 2022, were excluded from the sample. However, internally displaced persons from occupied territories were included among the respondents.
Under normal circumstances, the statistical margin of error with a 95% probability and accounting for the design effect would not exceed 4.1 percentage points for indicators close to 50%, 3.5 for indicators close to 25%, 2.5 for indicators close to 10% and 1.8 for indicators close to 5%.
In wartime conditions, additional systematic deviations are possible. Nonetheless, KIIS believes the results maintain high representativeness and allow for reliable analysis of public sentiment.
Background: According to a KIIS survey conducted 5-10 February 2024, the share of Ukrainians who believed affairs in the country were developing in the right direction fell from 54% in December 2023 to 44% in February 2024.
