Two killed in incident involving vessel carrying Ukrainian grain near Romania – video

A vessel carrying grain from Ukraine to Italy was involved in an incident in the Black Sea off the Romanian coast. Two crew members were killed and 11 others rescued.

Details: According to Romania's maritime safety agency, a distress call was received by the Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre at 10:37 on 5 October.
Early reports indicate that the vessel was approximately 20 nautical miles from the Romanian coast and nine nautical miles from the Pescaruș oil platform.
Following the incident, SAR Apollo, SAR Ares and SAR Artemis rescue vessels and a coast guard unit were sent to the area.
It was initially reported that 13 crew members were missing and that the captain had been injured.
The Romanian Ministry of Internal Affairs later clarified that 11 crew members had been rescued and two people had died.
A helicopter from the General Aviation Inspectorate was also involved in the rescue operation and transported those injured for emergency medical treatment.
The vessel Royad Mammadov had departed from the Ukrainian port of Izmail and was heading to Italy.
