Ukraine's General Staff reports damage to Samara oil station and Astrakhan gas processing plant supplying Russian forces
The General Staff has reported that the Samara oil pipeline control station and Astrakhan gas processing plant, which help meet the needs of the Russian Armed Forces, sustained extensive damage in strikes.

As a result of the 4 October strike on the Astrakhan gas processing plant in Astrakhan, Russia's Astrakhan Oblast, damage to elements of two gas treatment units, U-172 and U-272, as well as the secondary distillation unit U-1731, has been confirmed."
Details: The General Staff said both facilities targeted in the strikes contribute to meeting the needs of the Russian Armed Forces.
The Samara oil pipeline control station is a major hub for receiving, storing and blending oil. It is where Urals crude, which accounts for up to 50% of Russia's total oil exports, is produced.
The Astrakhan gas processing plant is one of the world's largest producers of gas sulphur, which is used to manufacture explosives and gunpowder. The facility has a designed capacity to process up to 12 billion cubic metres of formation gas per year and produces up to 3.5 million tonnes of technical sulphur annually, accounting for about 50% of Russia's total production.
