Emergency power outages hit Kyiv

Emergency power cuts have been introduced in Kyiv and some districts of Kyiv Oblast on the instructions of Ukrenergo, Ukraine's state-owned electricity transmission system operator.

Details: Scheduled power-cut timetables do not apply during emergency outages.

Background: On 7 October, the electricity supply issues partially knocked out power to water pumping stations. Water supply disruptions were reported on Kyiv's right bank.
