Ukraine is imposing sanctions on key employees of Russian defence industry and chemical sector businesses involved in maintaining an uninterrupted industrial production cycle for ballistic missiles.

They include: employees of the Votkinsk Plant; the V. V. Bakhirev Institute of Mechanical Engineering; Radar MMS; Granit-Electron; Anozit; Aviatek; Metafrax Chemicals; Altai; Nevinnomyssk Azot; Azot; the Salyut, Strela, VNIIR-Progress, Mashinostroitel, Avangard, Sverdlov and Morozov plants; the Voskresensky Aggregation Factory; and the Polyus and Submicron research institutes.

The statement noted that all these facilities are already subject to sanctions imposed by Ukraine and, to some extent, by the US, the EU, the UK, Switzerland, Australia, Japan, Canada and New Zealand. Ukraine will now work with its partners not only to fully align sanctions against these Russian defence industry and chemical sector entities but also to target their key employees.

The sanctions package targeting those helping Russia evade financial sanctions covers 28 individuals and 27 legal entities. These include companies operating cryptocurrency exchanges, cryptocurrency exchange services and their executives and owners. Restrictions have also been imposed on the executives and owners of companies belonging to the A7 shadow banking network, which publicly offers tools to circumvent financial sanctions. The US had previously imposed sanctions on the A7 network.

Under a separate decision, sanctions have been imposed on 10 individuals, 21 legal entities and two maritime vessels that support Russia and act in its interests in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.

"They finance Russia's unprovoked and aggressive war against Ukraine and the Ukrainian people, plunder our natural resources, and spread Russian propaganda. These include collaborators who serve the aggressor, work for it, and assist the Russian occupiers. They also include enterprises that provide internet and television services, conduct geological exploration, and manufacture electronics and metal products in Ukraine's temporarily occupied territories," the Office of the President of Ukraine said.
