Starlink restrictions deprive Ukraine of effective defence against jet-powered Shahed drones

Ukraine uses Starlink satellite communications technology in interceptor drones designed to take down jet-powered Shaheds, which Russia has recently been launching in large numbers.

Quote: "Starlink is used in what is currently the most effective solution – interceptors – to protect our skies from jet-powered Shaheds.
In effect, by taking these steps, our partners are depriving us of one of the few options we have for defending the country against jet-powered Shaheds."
Details: Beskrestnov described the situation as another major problem.
Background:
- Ukrainian forces have reported that they encountered restrictions on Starshield, the military version of the US satellite communications system Starlink, on the night of 13-14 October. The service offers higher speeds and is critical to drone operations.
- "Connectivity began to drop when moving at speeds exceeding 160 km/h. As a result, a number of critical missions were disrupted," the soldiers said.
