Quote: "A shortened basic military training course for foreign nationals and stateless persons is available only to those who have military service experience."

Details: Muzychuk explained that the training of foreign nationals and stateless persons joining Ukraine's National Guard is conducted in accordance with Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 768 of 12 June 2026 and an order issued by the National Guard commander approving the basic military training programme for this category of service personnel.

Under the programme, basic military training lasts 51 days.

The shortened basic military training course, an intensive programme, may be offered only to candidates who have previously served in the armed forces or law enforcement agencies of other countries, wish to take the intensive course and provide a document confirming their service.

Before being admitted to the intensive course, candidates must undergo an initial assessment to evaluate their acquired knowledge and practical skills.

Only those who pass the assessment successfully may take the 14-day intensive basic military training course.

After completing basic military training, all service personnel undergo an adaptation course lasting up to 14 days, in accordance with a programme designed to prepare and further train them for combat operations.

The duration and content of training are determined by established requirements and the service personnel's level of preparedness. This is necessary to ensure they are adequately prepared to carry out combat missions, Muzychuk said.
