Power supply has been cut for the part of the consumers in Vinnytsia, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia and Sumy oblasts as a result of Russian attacks on the night of 26-27 October. The Russian forces also attacked the energy sector of Khmelnytskyi Oblast.

Russian attacks caused hourly power outage schedules covering up to 2.5 will be applied to all categories of consumers in parts of Ukraine until the end of the day. This means that there may be no electricity for 8 to 12 hours a day.

Further Russian attacks on energy infrastructure may change the situation and the scale of outages may increase.

Meanwhile, electricity consumption has decreased. On the morning of 27 October, it was 1.36% lower than at the same time on the previous day. The reason for the changes is new forced consumption restrictions due to the damages by Russian attacks.

The agencies urge limiting the use of high-power electrical appliances during peak hours – from 16:00 to 22:00 – to avoid overloading the power system and prevent additional accidents.

Background: The city of Konotop in Sumy Oblast has been without electricity for a fourth consecutive day following Russian strikes on the night of 23-24 October, with no forecast for when power will be restored.
