Quote: "Preparations are underway for a trilateral meeting which is planned to take place in Abu Dhabi. We expect the meeting to take place by 10 November, and very much hope that the escalation in the Middle East, which is being discussed so widely at the moment, will not get in the way."
Details: Later, answering a question, Zelenskyy said there could be several such technical meetings.
"Our assessment is as follows. The agenda includes a ceasefire in the energy sector and at sea, prisoner exchanges and many humanitarian issues. It is not just about territory. We are ready to discuss territorial issues, but only at the level of leaders," he noted.
Background:
- Zelenskyy previously said that, following a conversation between European leaders and Russian ruler Vladimir Putin, there are indications that Russia is serious about a meeting of the negotiating teams in Abu Dhabi.
- The Ukrainian president also said that holding the trilateral meeting of Ukrainian, Russian and US technical teams planned for early November depends on the US.
