The veterinary centre's premises were damaged as a result of the strike. Krok do Tvaryn reported that by the evening of 28 October, they had cleared away the broken glass and debris and boarded up shattered windows with plywood. Now they need to repair the damaged cat shelters, operating theatre and offices.

Kind-hearted people have taken 101 animals in for temporary fostering. Seriously ill and elderly animals have remained at the centre for now. Krok do Tvaryn said that anyone willing to take in any of those animals is welcome to do so in a few days' time.

Quote from the centre: "You can contact us any time, and we are ready to take animals back if things don't work out! We are grateful to everyone who responded, but we know that sometimes emotions cause us to overestimate our strength. We will be grateful for your feedback and continued responsiveness!"

Krok do Tvaryn has launched a fundraiser to help with the repairs to the premises.

Background: Sadyba Niushanik, a bird sanctuary in Kyiv Oblast that cares for many birds and rescues dozens of orphaned storks every year, was hit by a Russian strike in early October. Around 190 birds were killed.
