Emergency power outages begin in some Ukrainian oblasts
Emergency power outages have been applied in certain oblasts of Ukraine on 2 November, with the most difficult power supply situation remaining in Kyiv and Dnipropetrovsk oblasts.
Source: Artem Nekrasov, First Deputy Minister of Energy
Details: The energy infrastructure of these two oblasts has sustained massive damage due to Russian strikes. Damage to equipment has restricted the transmission capacity of electricity to consumers, forcing power engineers to apply emergency outages.
The Ministry of Energy noted that the cause of emergency outages in certain regions is also a drop in voltage within the high-voltage grid. Previously posted schedules do not apply there. A return to them will be possible after the situation in the energy system stabilises.
Consumers are advised to check up-to-date information regarding outages on the official resources of distribution system operators.
Background: On the morning of 2 November, emergency power outages were introduced in Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast by order of state-owned electricity transmission operator Ukrenergo due to the Russian attacks.
