Quote from Astra: "The Slavneft-YANOS oil refinery (Slavneft-Yaroslavnefteorgsintez), also known as the Yaroslavl Oil Refinery, is one of Russia's five largest refineries.
Having examined photos and videos sent in by readers, an Astra OSINT expert determined that the facility on fire is indeed this refinery, located in the city of Yaroslavl."

Details: Photos and videos posted after the attack show a large fire breaking out on the refinery's premises.

An air-raid warning was issued at around 03:00 due to a drone threat in the area, followed later by a missile alert.
Slavneft, which owns the Yaroslavl refinery, is jointly controlled by Rosneft and Gazprom Neft. The plant produces petrol, diesel fuel, fuel oil, aviation kerosene, lubricants, paraffin and other petroleum products.
The facility also supplies petroleum products to Russia's Central and Northwestern Federal Districts and provides fuel to Moscow Oblast.
The refinery's customers also include facilities belonging to Russia's defence industry. For example, the plant supplies fuel for Russian military aircraft and equipment.

Background: The Yaroslavl refinery has been attacked several times before. In particular, the plant was targeted by Ukraine's defence forces in late September.
