Details: The SSU did not comment on reports from NABU and SAPO that, while detectives were carrying out lawful investigative actions under a warrant issued by an investigating judge of the High Anti-Corruption Court, a senior SSU official threatened to use a firearm and prevented detectives from accessing the premises to conduct the search.

Ukrainska Pravda has learned that the official in question is General Serhii Duka.

Background:

  • On 4 November, Ukrainska Pravda sources reported searches involving Anton Kravchuk, Head of the SSU's Main Internal Security Directorate, and Oleksandr Kovalchuk, First Deputy Head of Directorate D within the SSU's Department for the Protection of National Statehood.
  • Sources told UP that the searches involving senior SSU officials on 4 November may be linked to the activities of Andrii Osipov, nicknamed "Criminal", who was previously detained by NABU and SAPO.
