EU to grant Ukraine over €20bn more subject to implementation of reforms
The European Commission plans to transfer the remainder of this year's funding under the €90 billion EU loan package to Ukraine by the end of 2026, amounting to over €20 billion. To receive these funds, Ukraine must execute the required reforms.

Details: Following the transfer of €4.36 billion to Ukraine on 5 November for budget support and defence needs, the EU still has approximately €20 billion available for disbursement this year.
Quote: "And it's important to carry on with the reforms so that we can unlock the remaining funding, which remains the objective. We want to get to €45 billion by the end of this year under the loan."
Details: When asked by the European Pravda journalist for clarification on whether the European Commission is confident it will be able to disburse all €20 billion by the end of the year, the spokesperson did not offer a definitive confirmation.
Quote: "We are certain of our determination to get to the target, which is €45 billion. Of course, a lot hinges on the reforms. We have been saying that for a long time."
Details: Ujvári also positively assessed the current pace of reforms in Ukraine, noting that there is currently positive dynamics and good progress in the reform agenda, which is clearly moving forward and "it is important to keep up the pace and continue the momentum of reforms".
Ujvári added that last week the European Commission adopted the financial strategy for supporting Ukraine for 2027, which is now under consideration by the Council of the EU.
Quote: "And according to that, we can calculate with about €30-32 billion for defenсe and the rest for budget support that will be the way to go for next year."
