Ukraine receives €2.9 billion under Ukraine Facility

Ukraine has received €2.9 billion from the European Union under the Ukraine Facility.

Details: The funds are part of previously allocated financing under the Ukraine Facility. Ukraine became eligible to receive them after meeting 10 indicators during the first and second quarters of 2026 and earlier periods.

The indicators concerned the banking sector, energy, agricultural policy, transport and other areas. Three of them were met ahead of schedule.

"Given the difficult financial situation, these funds are critically important for the resilience of the state, covering key expenditures and enabling us to direct more of our own resources towards defence," the prime minister wrote.

He also noted that Ukraine's financing needs remained critical, adding that the government was accelerating the adoption of all relevant decisions as much as possible and working with parliament to pass the necessary legislation.

Background: On 24 September, it was reported that Ukraine would soon receive almost €3 billion after the Council of the EU approved the eighth regular payment under the Ukraine Facility.
