Son of Kyiv ex-Mayor ‘Released from Spanish Jail’

On August 12, the Court of Appeals of Barcelona freed Stepan Chernovetskyi, son of Kyiv ex-Mayor Leonid Chernovetskyi, the latter reported on his Facebook page.

According to him, Stepan was released without any measures of restraint or bail.

"After talking to the attorneys, my family will provide all the details and our next actions to restore justice and bring to liability those guilty of this accusation," he added.

On July 12, Stepan Chernovetskyi and 10 other people were detained in Barcelona, suspected of money laundering.

Later on, the court arrested him without a bail option.
