Special camps for Russian prisoners of war are now operating in Ukraine.

According to Venediktova: "There already are (POW camps – Ed.). We have been working on this. They exist because this, again, is required by the Geneva Convention.
The prisoners are even given medical care at almost the (same) level as our children are given.
That is why I consider that we are proving we are a civilised country that stands up to the aggressor without becoming an aggressor ourselves."
Details: According to Venediktova, matters relating to the special military camps have been worked out in a joint order signed by the Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Internal Affairs and other agencies.
At the same time, the Prosecutor General specified that the issue of POWs is being handled by a specially created law-enforcement agency, the Military Police.
