Other comments by Peskov: Putin's spokesman revealed a new reason for the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russia: to prevent World War III.

Peskov also expressed the hope that the war in Ukraine would end in the coming days or the very near future, either because Russia achieves its objectives or because negotiations are successful.

Responding to the journalist's questions as to whether the war could end with negotiations after all that has happened, Peskov said that it is possible.
