Quote: "Until recently, the enemy has not conducted active hostilities on the Zaporizhzhia front, but conducted fire strikes in order to limit the actions of our troops and destroy our artillery units.

Today at about 11:00 am, the enemy actively used aviation and artillery on Huliaipole. With massive shelling, the Russian army is destroying Orikhiv's peaceful infrastructure, launching missiles and air strikes."

Background: The day before, the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration reported that the Russian military had changed tactics in an attempt to advance in eastern Ukraine: they were analysing the tactics of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, looking for their vulnerabilities, and being cautious.

On 2 May, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the Russian army had deployed additional man-portable anti-aircraft missiles in the temporarily occupied territories of the Luhansk and Zaporizhzia regions in order to increase the air defence system.
