Renewed shelling of Zolochiv in Kharkiv Oblast – one person killed, rubble removed

Russian troops shelled Zolochiv in Kharkiv Oblast once again at midnight on the night of 21–22 June, killing at least one person and leaving more people under the rubble.

Details: A two-storey block of flats was destroyed in the village of Zolochiv as a result of a direct hit by a Russian missile on 22 June.

Rescuers have recovered one casualty from under the rubble.

Another two-storey building and a garage were also badly damaged by the shelling.

The shelling occurred at 00:30.

In the morning, rescuers continued to clear the rubble, finding more people under it, Kovalenko said. Exact numbers will be announced later.

Background:

On the night of 16–17 June, the Russians shelled Zolochiv in Kharkiv Oblast using cluster munitions.

On the morning of 21 June, Russian forces shelled the village of Udy in the hromada of Zolochiv. Three people were killed.

Over a 24-hour period on 21 June, rescuers extinguished 16 fires in Kharkiv Oblast caused by Russian shelling.
