Ukrainian Armed Forces repel Russian assault on Marinka – General Staff report

Russian occupying forces attempted to mount an assault on Marinka and to advance on Lozove, but they were unsuccessful and were forced to retreat.

Details: On the Sivershchyna front, Russia is maintaining units of the Western Military District in the areas of Bryansk and Kursk oblasts (Russia) near the Russian-Ukrainian border.

Russian troops are carrying out combat engineering tasks to reinforce their positions and are installing video surveillance systems.

They used artillery to shell civilian infrastructure in and around Zaliznyi Mist and Hremiach (Chernihiv Oblast) and Starikove (Sumy Oblast).

Russia’s efforts on the Slobozhanshchyna front are focused on preventing the Ukrainian Armed Forces from creating favourable conditions to mount an offensive.

On the Kharkiv front, Russian forces shelled the city of Kharkiv and another five towns and villages using tubed and rocket artillery.

Russian troops did not conduct assault operations on the Sloviansk front, though they continued to use different types of artillery to fire on the areas in the vicinity of Bohorodychne, Dolyna, Dibrivne, Velyka Komyshuvakha and Ridne.

Russia’s efforts on the Donetsk front are focused on the areas around Bakhmut and Avdiivka.

In particular, Russian occupying forces are attempting to create favourable conditions to seize Soledar and Bakhmut and to force the Ukrainian troops back from the western outskirts of Donetsk.

On the Kramatorsk and Bakhmut fronts, Russian occupying forces used tank guns, as well as tubed and rocket artillery, to fire on the areas in the vicinity of Siversk, Hryhorivka, Verkhnokamianske, Bakhmut, Zaitseve, Soledar, Yakovlivka and Kodema. They also conducted an airstrike near Vershyna.

The Russians conducted assaults in an attempt to improve their tactical positions in the vicinity of Bakhmut, Zaitseve and Vershyna, but they were thwarted by the Ukrainian Armed Forces and retreated.

Russian forces fired on the areas near Avdiivka, Novobakhmutivka, Nevelske, Netailove and Krasnohorivka on the Avdiivka front.

They attempted to advance on Krasnohorivka, Avdiivka and Pisky, but were unsuccessful.

The Russians used tank guns and artillery (both tubed and rocket) to fire on 11 towns and villages on the Novopavlivka and Zaporizhzhia fronts.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces have successfully repelled another Russian assault on Marinka and have forced the Russian forces to retreat.

Meanwhile, the Russians used UAVs to conduct aerial reconnaissance in the areas in and around Zaporizhzhia and Novoselivka Druha.

On the Pivdennyi Buh front, Russian occupying forces used all weapons at their disposal in an attempt to maintain their positions and prevent the Ukrainian Armed Forces from creating favourable conditions to mount a counteroffensive.

The Russians also fired on the areas in and around 14 towns and villages and conducted airstrikes near Lozova, Velyka Artakove and Andriivka.

They also made an attempt to advance on Lozove but were repelled by the Ukrainian Armed Forces and retreated.

In addition, they used UAVs to scout Ukrainian positions and adjust artillery fire.

Russian ships in the waters of the Black and Azov seas are focusing their efforts on supporting Russian ground troops, blocking civilian shipping in the northwestern part of the Black Sea, and striking military targets and infrastructure on the territory of Ukraine.

In addition, four naval high-precision cruise missile carriers are on standby in the waters of the Black and Azov seas.
