Russia can’t provide enough voters to simulate referendum – Operational Command Pivden (South)

UKRAINSKA PRAVDA – MONDAY, 8 AUGUST, 16:11

The Russians have launched preparations for holding "referendums" in the occupied territories at the beginning of the occupation, but each time they lacked a real electorate.

Quote from Humeniuk: "Preparations for referendums were launched at the very beginning of the occupation. We remember the dates that were heard: both the 20th of April and the May holidays. The constant postponement of these dates indicates that everything is not so smooth.

They can’t recruit the electorate that would help them simulate the same fake referendum. But they use quite different methods of influencing people: both by intimidation and simply by force, they try to collect personal data in order to form the false lists for the so-called expression of will."

Details: According to Humeniuk, a powerful resistance movement is still active on the occupied territories.

Background:

  • On 8 August, Yevhen Balytskyi, a collaborator and the so-called Head of the temporary administration of Zaporizhzhia Oblast, claimed that he had signed the order about the beginning of the preparation for the "referendum" for unification with Russia.
  • It became known earlier that the Russian occupiers started preparations for a staged referendum for the accession of the Kherson region to Russia. In particular, they started offering money [in exchange for vote] and advocating for young people to enrol in popular universities.
