Russian occupiers "have restored" the educational process in Mariupol.

However, the lessons are held not in classrooms, but in corridors, the Mariupol City Council reports.

Several classes are studied at the same time. The school boards hung on the walls in the corridor serve as landmarks, and the classroom doors divide the long rooms into "sectors".

"Three different classes of different subjects are being taught at a distance of three metres from each other. Of course, the children do not get any knowledge," the City Council notes.

Representatives of Ukraine’s official authorities say that the occupiers do not show anyone how the "restored" education process actually takes place.

"It's understandable why parents are not allowed to enter the school premises, and children's phones are taken away. [It is done] so that no one sees the truth. [And] the truth is that due to huge destruction and the lack of whole classrooms, children are taught in the corridors," writes Petro Andriushchenko, the adviser to the Mayor of Mariupol.

He adds that the educational process in Mariupol schools takes place in 3 shifts.

On the eve of the school year, occupiers intimidated parents, using messages in the Viber app. The parents were told that if they refused, the occupiers could deprive them of their parental rights and take away their children.
