Situation extremely hard on the Bakhmut front - Zelenskyy

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has stated that tough fighting is currently underway on the Bakhmut front in Donetsk Oblast; Ukrainian defenders are holding their positions.

Quote: "This day, the movement of our military, the Security Service of Ukraine, the National Guard and all those who take part in active operations – in the east and the south of our country – continued.

We are holding positions in Donbas, in particular around Bakhmut, where it is now very, very hard, very tough fighting. 

Today, I would like once again to mention our soldiers from the Kholodny Yar 93rd Separate Mechanised Brigade for their courage and sustained power in this area."

Previously: The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated, in their evening report of 8 October, that the Russians were periodically conducting offensive actions on the Bakhmut and Avdiivka fronts.
