After the defence of Mariupol, Zoriana Repetska was taken into Russian captivity, where she was held for 5 months. She, along with other 214 Ukrainian soldiers, returned home on 21 September.

Ukraine released 12 women in total as part of a large exchange.

Among the women released from captivity was also paramedic Kateryna "Ptashka" ("Birdie") Polishchuk and a pregnant military medic Mariana Mamonova, who later became a mother.

Dmytro "Orest" Kozatskyi, photographer and press officer for the Azov Regiment who was called the "eyes of Azovstal" for his painful photo reports from the Mariupol steel plant, mercilessly shelled by the invaders, also returned home.

Mykhailo Dianov, an Armed Forces marine, also returned home. Earlier, we published a heartbreaking video of his first meeting with his family after months of separation. Another Azof soldier, Lev "Horus" Pashka, was returned from captivity, and almost immediately he proposed to his girlfriend Diana in a hospital ward.
