Ukrainian Armed Forces repel Russian attacks near 12 cities, towns and villages – General Staff report

The Armed Forces of Ukraine have repelled Russian attacks in the vicinity of 12 cities, towns and villages in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts over the course of the past 24 hours.

Details: The General Staff reported that Ukraine’s defence forces have repelled Russian attacks in the vicinity of Makiivka, Nevske and Bilohorivka (Luhansk Oblast) and Verkhnokamianske, Spirne, Bakhmut, Maiorsk, Pervomaiske, Novomykhailivka, Vodiane, Pavlivka and Prechystivka (Donetsk Oblast).

The General Staff additionally reported that Russian forces are firing on units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces along the line of contact; carrying out engineering tasks to reinforce their positions on several fronts; and conducting aerial reconnaissance. They are also continuing to carry out attacks on critical infrastructure and civilian homes in violation of international humanitarian law and the norms and customs of war.

Over the course of the past 24 hours, Russian forces carried out 7 missile strikes and 47 airstrikes, as well as over 90 attacks using multiple-launch rocket systems (MLRS).

More than 25 Ukrainian cities, towns and villages came under Russian fire, including, Mykolaiv (Mykolaiv Oblast), Poltava (Poltava Oblast), Mykilske (Zaporizhzhia Oblast) and Kramatorsk and Pavlivka (Donetsk Oblast).

There is an ongoing threat of missile strikes from the territory of Belarus, including with the use of attack UAVs.

There were no significant changes on the Volyn and Polissia fronts. The Republic of Belarus is continuing to support and aid Russia’s military aggression against Ukraine and its people. 

On other fronts, the Russians continued to fire on military and civilian targets:

  • On the Sivershchyna front: Russian forces deployed mortars and tubed artillery to fire on areas in and around Hai and Senkivka (Chernihiv Oblast) and Mefedivka, Vovkivka, Zarutske, Myropillia, Hirky, Yunakivka, Zapsillia and Oleksandrivka (Sumy Oblast);
  • On the Slobozhanshchyna front: Russian forces deployed mortars and tubed and rocket artillery to fire on areas in and around Hlyboke, Kamianka, Vilkhuvatka, Neskuchne, Vovchansk, Kozacha Lopan, Milove, Starytsia, Strilecha, Veterynarne, Udy and Chuhunivka;
  • On the Kupiansk and Lyman fronts: Russian forces likewise deployed mortars and tubed and rocket artillery to fire on areas in and around Dvorichna, Kupiansk, Kucherivka, Kyslivka, Berestove, Dvorichne, Hrekivka, Zarichne, Ivanivka, Kotliarivka, Makiivka, Nadiia, Nevske, Yampolivka Terny;
  • On the Bakhmut front: the Russians deployed tank guns and various types of artillery to fire on areas in and around Spirne, Bilohorivka, Rozdolivka, Yakovlivka, Soledar, Bakhmutske, Bakhmut, Ivanhrad, Opytne, Zelenopillia and Maiorsk;
  • On the Avdiivka front: the Russians deployed tank guns, mortars and tubed and rocket artillery to fire on areas in the vicinity of Avdiivka, Marinka, Vodiane, Paraskoviivka, Kamianka, Krasnohorivka, Pervomaiske, Nevelske, Netailove and Novomykhailivka;
  • On the Novopavlivka front: the Russians deployed tank guns, mortars and tubed and rocket artillery to fire on areas in and around Bohoiavlenka, Pavlivka, Velyka Novosilka, Prechystivka, Vuhledar, Novomaiorske, Vremivka, Neskuchne and Paraskoviivka;
  • On the Zaporizhzhia front: Russian forces fired on areas in and around Huliaipole, Huliaipilske, Mali Shcherbaky, Novoandriivka, Orikhiv, Pavlivka, Zaliznychne, Dorozhnianka, Stepove, Olhivske, Malynivka, Novodanylivka and Chervone using tank guns, mortars and tubed and rocket artillery;
  • On the Pivdennyi Buh front, more than 18 cities, towns and villages situated along the line of contact came under Russian fire. The city of Nikopol and the village of Illinka (Dnipropetrovsk Oblast) sustained damage as a result of Russian MLRS attacks.

Russian occupation forces are continuing the forcible "evacuation" of civilians from cities, towns and villages in the temporarily occupied territory of Kherson Oblast. Civilians in Velyka Lepetykha are being loaded into buses and taken away. People are banned from using their own vehicles to evacuate.

Russian occupiers have been seen removing archival documents from administrative buildings in the city of Kherson.

The General Staff has confirmed Russia’s losses near Muzykivka (Kherson Oblast) from 29 October: the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed a Pantsir-S1 anti-aircraft missile system and damaged up to 10 other pieces of Russian military equipment. Additionally, 12 Russian soldiers were killed in the vicinity of Snihurivka (Mykolaiv Oblast) on 30 October.

According to the available information, Russian forces have set up an additional field hospital near Zavitne Bazhannia (Donetsk Oblast), where the existing hospital is overflowing with wounded and injured soldiers from the Russian occupation forces.

Men of conscription age are continuing to receive call-up notices despite the official end of the partial mobilisation campaign in the Russian Federation.

On 1 November, Ukrainian aircraft carried out 33 airstrikes, striking 26 clusters of Russian weapons and equipment and 7 anti-aircraft defence systems.

In addition, Ukrainian forces struck down a Russian helicopter, 2 Orlan-10 UAVs, 6 Shahed-136 kamikaze drones and 2 KUB-BLA loitering munitions.

Ukraine’s Rocket Forces and Artillery struck 4 clusters of Russian military personnel, weapons and equipment, 3 ammunition storage points and 6 other crucial military targets.
