Received LED lamps to be exchanged for incandescent lamps during winter – Prime Minister of Ukraine

Ukraine expects to receive energy-saving LED lamps from partner countries by the end of the year and exchange them with incandescent lamps collected from citizens and a number of institutions during the winter.

This was reported by Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal during a press conference in Paris, reports Ukrinform, the state-run news agency.

"We expect to start receiving LED lamps by the end of this year. And we hope to replace all of them throughout the winter", Shmyhal said.

He added that the government plans to replace 20-25 million lamps from the citizens by exchanging these lamps for incandescent ones.

The lamps will also be changed in the social sphere establishments, such as schools, hospitals, kindergartens, and infrastructure facilities.

Background: 

The European Commission will finance about 30 million LED lamps for Ukraine; President Zelenskyy stated the need for such support.
