40% of Kyiv left with no electricity due to security measures during Russia’s attack – Mayor

Forty per cent of Kyiv’s consumers have been left with no electricity due to security measures after the Russian missile attack on the morning of Thursday, 29 December.

Quote: "Forty per cent of the capital's consumers are without electricity after the missile attack. Due to the necessary safety measures taken by the power engineers during the air strike. Now the power engineers are working to restore the electricity supply," the Head of Kyiv City Council said.

Klitschko added that the heat and water supply is provided as usual, except for the houses with boilers dependent on electricity and that have no energy supply.

Background:

Russian forces attacked Ukraine with drones on the night of 28-29 December, and with cruise missiles on the morning of 29 December; air defence forces may be operating throughout the territory of Ukraine.
