Details: Russian forces are focusing their efforts on deterring the actions of the defence forces of Ukraine, carrying out engineering work on defensive lines and positions. Russian troops continue their offensive actions and actively use aviation to support ground groups on the Avdiivka and Bakhmut fronts.

On 3 December, Russian forces carried out two missile strikes and 10 airstrikes, as well as three attacks using multiple-launch rocket systems (MLRS) on the positions of Ukrainian Armed Forces and civilian cities, towns and villages along the contact line. In particular, a civil infrastructure facility in the city of Kramatorsk was hit by a missile.

There is still a threat of missile strikes on the targets of the energy system and critical infrastructure of Ukraine.

There were no significant changes on the Volyn and Polissia fronts; there is no evidence that Russian forces are forming new offensive task forces. Certain units of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus continue to perform tasks in the border areas with Ukraine.

On the Slobozhanshchyna front, Russian forces continue to hold military units close to the border areas of Belgorod Oblast of the Russian Federation. The settlements of Odnorobivka, Strilecha, Neskuchne, Ternova, Starytsia, Ohirtseve, Cherniakiv and Chuhunivka (Kharkiv Oblast) have suffered shelling from artillery of various calibres.

Russian forces are holding defence on the Kupiansk and Lyman fronts. The Russians shelled Synkivka, Tabaivka, Berestove, Vyshneve (Kharkiv Oblast) and Makiivka, Ploshchanka (Luhansk Oblast) with mortars, tubed and rocket artillery.

On the Bakhmut and Avdiivka fronts, Russian troops continue to focus their main efforts on conducting offensive actions and improving their tactical situation. They shelled Serebrianka, Bilohorivka, Yakovlivka, Soledar, Bakhmut, Bila Hora, Kurdiumivka, Opytne, Avdiivka, Vodiane, Nevelske, Krasnohorivka, Marinka, and Novomykhailivka (Donetsk Oblast) with mortars, tubed and rocket artillery.

On the Novopavlivka front, Russian troops are on the defensive. They fired at areas in and around Velykoi Novosilky, Vuhledara, Prechystivky and Zolotoi Nyvy (Donetsk Oblast) using artillery.

On the Zaporizhzhia front, Russian troops are also conducting defensive operations. They attacked over 10 cities, towns and villages along the contact line, in particular Orikhova in Zaporizhzhia Oblast.

On the Kherson front, Russian troops are defending their positions. Ukrainian positions were shelled from tanks, mortars, tubed and rocket artillery. The Russians did not stop attacking the suburbs and the city of Kherson.

Russians continue to suffer losses. Thus, on 2 December, as a result of a strike on the area of concentration of Russian troops in the city of Starobilsk, Luhansk Oblast, about 30 servicemen were wounded and 14 killed.

On 2 December, more than 270 occupiers were wounded in the Melitopol and Vasyliv districts of Zaporizhzhia Oblast. Information about the dead is being clarified.
