Paying in shops and for services and paying utility bills will only be possible in roubles.

[Citizens] will be able to exchange hryvnias in bank branches from 1 January 2023."

Details: According to Haidai, the occupiers have been imposing charges "retroactively".

For instance, the water supply was not restored to some houses in Sievierodonetsk until September or October, but everyone had to pay for it from July. Many houses, such as in the city of Lysychansk, still have no water.
