Night attack on Zaporizhzhia, infrastructure facility and 8 houses damaged, 2 injured

An infrastructure facility was destroyed and houses located next to it were damaged in a missile strike on the outskirts of the city of Zaporizhzhia, carried out by the Russians late in the evening on 3 January.

Details: According to Starukh, "industrial facilities were destroyed and a fire broke out [there – ed.] as a result of a strike on an infrastructure facility." Firefighters quickly put out the fire.

Nearby houses were also damaged.

Kurtiev reported that eight multi-storey buildings in one of the districts of the city of Zaporizhzhia were damaged as a result of the night strike. Their windows were blown out and their balconies were destroyed.

In addition, a kindergarten building was damaged. Its windows were also broken and the roof was partially damaged.

Previously, one injured person was reported. Now one more person is known to be injured -  the woman received minor injuries and her life is not in danger.

A huge 40-metre crater is gaping next to the houses, surrounded by damaged cars.

Fortunately, the missile did not hit the residential buildings themselves and all of the people are alive, added Kurtiev.

The President's Office reported that the Russians had hit an infrastructure facility in the city of Zaporizhzhia with S-300 missiles, two warehouse buildings were destroyed, and the blast wave damaged a five-storey residential building and cars parked nearby. According to the President's Office, one person was injured.

All details of the consequences of the attack are still being confirmed. Employees of the district administration have been working at the scene since nightfall, and utility workers [have been working – ed.] since early morning, the secretary of the city council noted.
