Morawiecki stressed the exclusivity of events during the war that Russia is waging against Ukraine and its European choice, as well as the fact that the Ukrainian people are now defending the whole of Europe at the cost of the lives of their compatriots.

"We cannot counteract what is happening in Ukraine through the usual or almost familiar process of joining (Ukraine to the EU). Therefore, we must start thinking in a new way, in a non-standard way," he explained.

According to Morawiecki, the change in the procedure is logical, considering that European architecture in principle requires reform.

"Now we are at a turning point in history, when we need to change almost everything in Europe. In particular, by creating a new process in Ukraine, an accelerated path. What it will look like in the end, I do not know. But if we talk about whether I support a departure from the usual rules, my answer is yes, because extraordinary events are taking place before our eyes right now," the Polish prime minister explained.

As reported, the Polish government predicts that the discussion about the F-16 fighter jets for Ukraine can end with a positive decision.

At the same time, Warsaw is working on expanding NATO and will try to convince Erdogan, president of Turkey, to finally agree to Sweden's accession to NATO.
