Ukraine's Defence Forces repel Russian attacks near 14 settlements – General Staff report

Over the course of the past 24 hours, Ukraine's Defence Forces have repelled Russian assaults in the vicinity of 14 settlements.

Quote: "Over the past day, the enemy carried out six missile attacks, four of which hit civilian infrastructure of Sloviansk, Kramatorsk and Druzhkivka settlements in Donetsk Oblast, and four airstrikes. They also deployed multiple-launch rocket systems and fired 73 times. Civilians were killed by the enemy strikes.

There is an ongoing threat of missile strikes and airstrikes across Ukraine.

The enemy is actively conducting reconnaissance tasks and preparing for offensive operations on certain fronts. Despite having significant losses, they are continuing to conduct offensive operations on the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Novopavlivka fronts.

Yesterday, our warriors repelled the occupiers’ attacks in the vicinity of Novoselivske, Ploshchanka, Nevske, Chervonopopivka, Dibrova, Kuzmyne and Bilohorivka in Luhansk Oblast and Spirne, Bilohorivka, Vasiukivka, Blahodatne, Krasna Hora, Bakhmut and Klishchiivka in Donetsk Oblast."

Details: On the Volyn, Polissia, Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna fronts there were no significant changes. No Russian offensive groups have been reported. The areas of the settlements of Kliusy and Yeline in Chernihiv Oblast; Muraveinia, Katerynivka, Vovkivka, Oleksandrivka and Volfyne in Sumy Oblast; and Veterynarne, Strilecha, Hlyboke, Zelene, Neskuchne, Ternova, Ohirtseve, Starytsia, Vovchansk and Budarky in Kharkiv Oblast came under fire.

On the Kupiansk front, Russian forces used tanks and artillery to fire on areas in and around Dvorichna, Synkivka, Ivanivka, Kupiansk, Kyslivka, Kotliarivka, Tabaivka, Krokhmalne and Pishchane in Kharkive Oblast; and Novoselivske and Stelmakhivka in Luhansk Oblast. 

On the Lyman front, Novoiehorivka, Nevske and Dibrova in Luhansk Oblast, as well as Terny and Serebrianka in Donetsk Oblast, came under Russian fire.

On the Bakhmut front, the invaders shelled Verkhnokamianske, Spirne, Bilohorivka, Vesele, Paraskoviivka, Bakhmut, Ivanivske, Predtechyne, Stupochky, Druzhba and New-York in Donetsk Oblast. 

On the Avdiivka front, the occupiers attacked Sievierne, Avdiivka, Pervomaiske, Nevelske, Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Marinka, Pobieda and Novomykhailivka. 

On the Novopavlivka front, the settlements of Vuhledar, Bohoiavlenka, Novoukrainka, Prechystivka, Velyka Novosilka and Neskuchne in Donetsk Oblast came under Russian artillery fire.

On the Zaporizhzhia front, 20 settlements were affected by Russian fire, including Vremivka in Donetsk Oblast and Poltavka, Malynivka, Huliaipole, Charivne, Orikhiv and Novodanylivka in Zaporizhzhia Oblast.

On the Kherson front, the Russians used artillery to fire on Beryslav, Antonivka and Kherson city in Kherson Oblast, as well as Dmytrivka in Mykolaiv Oblast.

The General Staff reported that the occupiers continue imposing Russian citizenship on the citizens of Ukraine in temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk Oblast. In the city of Horlivka, they are forcing drivers to receive new driving licences under the Russian standards, which is not possible unless the person obtains a Russian passport. The invaders set a timeframe by 1 May 2023 for employees of local transport facilities; after that, they will fire those who do not comply with the requirements. 

Over the past 24 hours, Ukraine’s Rocket Forces and Artillery units struck a command post, three clusters of Russian military personnel and an ammunition storage point.
