Details: The Japanese military says this figure is very high. For example, in the United States, there have been almost no cases of officers of such a high rank being killed in combat.

Kiyofumi Iwata, Former Chief of Staff of the Ground Self-Defence Forces of Japan, explains the large number of killed generals by Ukraine's superiority in cyber warfare, which allows it to find out the location of Russian military leaders, as well as by Russian tactics of sending generals to the front.

A senior Japanese intelligence official pointed out another possible reason: "There may be informants in the two eastern regions [Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts – ed.] giving information to Ukraine."

The news outlet highlights another point that has become apparent over the past year – the "inferiority" of Russian military assets.

Background: According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as of 9 February, total combat losses of the Russian forces are estimated to be about 135,010 military personnel. 910 invaders have been killed on 8-9 February alone.
