In Donetsk Oblast, 41 settlements were left without energy due to intense shelling, while 3 settlements are without light in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.

Also, damage to energy infrastructure was recorded in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kherson and Kharkiv oblasts. Due to previous attacks, some consumers in Zaporizhzhia Oblast remain without light.

Quote: "In Kryvyi Rih, three mines were left without power, entrapping several dozen people. The miners were later rescued. The building of the Kryvyi Rih Thermal Power Plant was also damaged by the blast wave. In the morning, some of the consumers’ access to electricity was restored," the Ministry of Energy added.

In Kherson and Mykolaiv oblasts, the aftermath of the flood, which arose due to the Russians blowing up the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant, is being documented and dealt with.

Ukrenergo, Ukraine’s national power company, adds that the water level in flooded areas is gradually decreasing, but the access of repair teams to the grid is still very limited. As of the morning of 13 June, over 40,000 consumers have no electricity in Kherson Oblast, while the number in Mykolaiv Oblast is 2,000.

The amount of electricity produced by Ukrainian power plants of all kinds is enough to cover the needs of consumers. But hydroelectric power plants work with reduced capacity to minimise the aftermath of the destruction of the Kakhovka HPP. In addition, the summer repair campaign continues at the power units of thermal and nuclear power plants.

"Therefore, we ask you to delay the use of energy-consuming equipment from evening hours to night and day in order to reduce the pressure on the power system and facilitate its balancing," the company added.

On Monday 12 June, emergency aid from Romania and Poland was used to maintain a balance between electricity consumption and production. The total amount of support was 1,600 MWh.
