Russian attacks target energy infrastructure in six Ukrainian oblasts

A large-scale Russian attack has caused new power outages in six Ukrainian oblasts as of the morning of 27 August.

Details: The outages have been reported in Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Poltava, Odesa and Sumy oblasts.

Quote: "Emergency repair work is underway wherever the security situation allows. Power engineers are doing everything they can to restore equipment damaged by the enemy to working order as quickly as possible."

Details: Power engineers are asking consumers to shift energy-intensive activities to between 10:00 and 15:00 and conserve electricity between 18:00 and 22:00.

Background: Denys Shmyhal, First Deputy Prime Minister and Energy Minister, previously reported that three of the nine nuclear power units under Ukrainian control were undergoing repairs.
