Russians destroyed all vegetation on Dzharylhach Island
All of the vegetation was burned down on Dzharylhach Island, Kherson Oblast, which is temporarily occupied by the troops of the Russian Federation.
This was announced by Serhii Danilov, Deputy Director of the Centre for Middle East Studies
"The invaders completely burned Dzharylhach," wrote Serhii Danilov.
In the comment to Ukrainska Pravda.Life he said that during 28-29 June, a fire occurred in the eastern part of the island, where the main forest plantations are located.
"It looks like there was a large-scale fire that destroyed all the green spaces in the central and eastern parts of the island," the researcher said.
According to Danilov, the island was mostly covered with artificial plantations and forestry.
"There were quite unique landscapes; something similar was on the Kinburn Spit, which also largely burned down. In the spring, there will be grass cover, but without human intervention, Dzharylhach will turn into a sandy island that will be washed away by water," said Serhii Danilov.
Earlier, a number of protests against the ecocide of Russians on the island of Dzharylhach in Kherson Oblast took place in several European cities.
