Details: A slight decrease in the water level in the cooling pond was recorded as of 08:00 (Kyiv time) on 24 July, dropping to 16.36 metres.
The water level in the thermal power plant canal, from where the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) pond is replenished if necessary, is 10.93 metres.
Quote: "It should be noted that the water level in the canal has not been dropping significantly lately, and its indicators no longer depend on the Kakhovka Reservoir, which the Russians destroyed.
It is worth recalling that the ZNPP power units [Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant - ed.] have not been operating since September 2022, so there has been no active water evaporation from the cooling pond," the company explained.
Details: Energoatom also reported that the radiation situation at the ZNPP is within the current standards as of 08:00 (Kyiv time) on 24 July 2023.
