The Russians carried out 28 attacks on Sumy Oblast on 3 July, with 170 explosions observed, 5 people killed, and damage to infrastructure facilities.

Details: Russians deployed artillery (10 explosions) to attack Shalyhyne hromada [a hromada is an administrative unit designating a town, village or several villages and their adjacent territories – ed.], as a result of the shelling, Two civilians were killed and one person was injured.

Russians dropped two bombs on the Seredyna-Buda hromada.

Russians launched missiles from a helicopter (using unguided air missiles) in Myropillia hromada, with three explosions. 

Russian forces drones dropped VOG grenades (two explosions) and deployed mortars (36 explosions) to attack Velyka Pysarivka hromada. There was also bombardment from automatic grenade launchers (30 explosions), and a fire broke out in non-residential buildings as a result of one of the attacks.

Strikes by Shahed 136 drones were observed in Sumy hromada. As a result of the hits, an administrative building and two apartment buildings, seven cars and school premises were damaged. There are currently two dead civilians and 19 injured.

There were mortar attacks (24 explosions) on Yunakivka hromada. A local resident died as a result of one of these attacks. A private residential house and an outbuilding were damaged. Russians also shelled using artillery (14 explosions). Three private residential buildings were damaged as a result of one shelling.

29 explosions from mortars were observed in Bilopillia hromada.

Russians deployed mortars (four explosions) and artillery (three explosions) to attack Khotyn hromada.

There was artillery shelling (10 explosions) on Krasnopillia hromada.

Background: President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the Russians had attacked residential buildings and a Security Service of Ukraine building in Sumy with Iranian drones on the night of 2-3 July.
