US delivers generator for one of key cargo checkpoints on border with Poland

The United States has donated a powerful generator for the railway cargo checkpoint on the border with Poland, which will allow it to operate smoothly in the event of power outages.

Details: The 50 kW generator was delivered last week and installed at the Ukrzaliznytsia railway checkpoint in Volyn Oblast. 

Quote: "This generator will ensure that one of Ukraine’s largest cargo border crossings keeps working even during power outages, so grain exports can continue without interruption."

Background: 

• In November, the United States announced US$500 million in aid to Ukraine in the energy sector. 
• Meanwhile, Latvia plans to deliver 32 diesel generators to Chernihiv by the end of the year.
