Details: Keir Starmer and Volodymyr Zelenskyy met this morning in Downing Street.
The UK prime minister also received NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.
Greeting Rutte, Starmer noted that he and Zelenskyy had been "meeting all morning, going through the plan for victory".
Rutte, in turn, explained that "this is about Ukraine, but it's also about the defence of the West and how we stay safe".
Update at 14:26: President Zelenskyy subsequently reported on his Telegram channel that he and Starmer had agreed to discuss the Victory Plan with allies.
Background:
- In addition, the Ukrainian president is scheduled to visit Paris on Thursday, where he will be received by President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace.
- On 9 October, it was unofficially reported that Zelenskyy was expected to visit Berlin on Friday for talks with Chancellor Olaf Scholz and President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
- The visit to Berlin became known after the postponement of the meeting of the Ukraine Defence Contact Group (also known as the Ramstein format) due to a change in US President Joe Biden's plans. It remains unclear whether it will take place at the leader level, as originally planned for this week.
