Russia announces beginning of "respectful dialogue" and new round of talks with US

Kirill Dmitriev, special envoy of Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin, has stated that new contacts between Moscow and Washington can be expected "as early as next week".

Details: Dmitriev said new US-Russia talks are expected during the week beginning 7 April.

The envoy also expressed "cautious optimism" regarding the resumption of dialogue between Russia and the United States.

Quote: "There is certainly a strong focus on restoring Russian-American relations – I’ve been working on this for many years. Naturally, the focus is on economic and investment cooperation... We’re seeing the beginning of a respectful, constructive dialogue."
