New US-Ukraine talks on war resolution set for London after Paris discussions

An agreement has been reached to meet in London next week, following talks held in Paris on Thursday 17 April between representatives of the United States, Ukraine and three European countries – the United Kingdom, Germany and France.

Details: Paris noted that Thursday's meeting of representatives from the five nations "resulted in an excellent, high-quality exchange of views to achieve a lasting peace for Ukraine".
"Today in Paris, we've launched a positive process in which Europeans are participating," they added.
The Élysée Palace confirmed that a follow-up meeting between representatives of the United States, Ukraine and the three European countries is scheduled to take place next week in London.
Background:
- Delegations from Ukraine and the United States, along with representatives of the United Kingdom and Germany, arrived in Paris on Thursday for multi-format talks to end the Russo-Ukrainian war.
- French President Emmanuel Macron received the US delegation at the Élysée Palace. The Ukrainian delegation also met with representatives of France, Germany and the UK in Paris.
- Earlier, US President Donald Trump stated that Russia was expected to send Washington its response to the proposed ceasefire in Ukraine in the coming days.
