Emergency and rescue operations completed in Kharkiv after Russia's morning strike

Emergency and rescue operations have concluded in the city of Kharkiv after a morning Russian attack. One civilian has been killed in the missile strike and 114 injured, including nine children.

Quote: "SES rescue workers and the city's municipal workers have dealt with the aftermath of the enemy attack. A total of 45 cubic metres of building debris were removed and emergency structures were dismantled from three apartment buildings and an educational institution.

SES psychologists assisted 150 injured civilians. One person was killed in the attack and 114 injured, including nine children." 

Background: 

  • A Russian ballistic missile carrying cluster munitions struck a high-rise building in the city of Kharkiv on the morning of 18 April.
  • Kharkiv Oblast Prosecutor's Office reported that Russian forces had struck the city of Kharkiv with three Iskander high-explosive missiles. At least one missile was detonated in mid-air to cause as much damage as possible in the city.
