Details: Zelenskyy announced that early next week Ukraine will enter into an agreement with one of three law firms that will represent its interests during negotiations with the US.
"At the beginning of next week, I will have a big meeting with our team, where I will be presented with all of the clauses [of the deal] that satisfy us or ones that will reflect, as we believe, justice in the deal – how we see it," he added.
After that, Zelenskyy stated that "a technical group will be ready for its official visit to the United States and for the dialogue with its American partners".
He noted that he himself is not yet planning to visit the US.
Background:
- A few days ago, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, who is leading negotiations on Ukrainian critical mineral resources, announced an upcoming visit by a delegation from Kyiv.
- Earlier this week, Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha confirmed that Kyiv is holding consultations with the United States in order to finalise a "mutually acceptable text" of an agreement on critical minerals.
